Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Procurement Coordinator with significant experience in the oil and gas industry.

 

Overview / Responsibilites

 

The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for managing procurement operations across projects and contracts, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of goods and services. This role oversees a team of buyers while also personally executing procurement for critical or high-value items. The Procurement Coordinator ensures governance compliance, develops strategic agreements such as Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and works closely with Materials Management, Project Controls, and Construction to support seamless project execution.

 

  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and coach buyers in daily procurement activities.
    • Assign workloads, monitor KPIs, and ensure service levels are achieved
  • Procurement Execution (Personal Buying Responsibility)
    • Execute purchasing activities for complex, high-value, or urgent materials and services.
    • Review and approve purchase requisitions for accuracy and compliance.
    • Issue purchase orders and negotiate directly with suppliers on price, terms, and delivery schedules.
    • Manage escalations and resolve issues that impact delivery timelines or costs.
    • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, delivery terms, and favorable conditions.
  • Strategic Procurement & MSAs
    • Identify high-volume or frequently purchased goods and services suitable for MSAs.
    • Lead the development and negotiation of MSAs to standardize pricing, terms, and conditions.
    • Monitor usage of MSAs to ensure compliance and maximize cost benefits.                     
    • Develop sourcing strategies aligned with market intelligence and company objectives.
  • Governance & Compliance
    • Ensure all procurement activities follow company and client procedures, ethical practices, and contractual requirements.
    • Maintain readiness for audits by ensuring accurate and complete documentation
  • Supplier & Subcontractor Management
    • Support supplier prequalification, onboarding, and performance evaluation.
    • Manage supplier relationships to ensure reliable delivery and responsiveness.
    • Resolve escalated issues with vendors and subcontractors
  • Project & Schedule Support
    • Work with Project Controls to ensure procurement aligns with budgets and schedules.
    • Engage with Construction teams to anticipate site requirements and avoid delays.
    • Report on procurement status, risks, and recovery actions
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Drive efficiency by identifying opportunities for process improvement and standardization.
  • Perform all other related job functions as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.Sc.) in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, CIPS or equivalent from a recognised institution. 
  • A minimum of five to seven (5–7) years’ procurement/supply chain experience.
  • Experience in oil & gas, energy, or industrial projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contracts, and supply chain principles.
  • Drive efficiency by identifying opportunities for process automation and standardization.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Maximo, or equivalent) considered an asset
  • Leadership and team development skills.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to structure agreements like MSAs.       
  • High integrity and ethical approach to procurement
  • Seeks ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and trustworthiness.
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
