Role Overview:
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our Property Operating Maintenance Team. The Pool Technician will assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the swimming pools and related equipment. The Pool Technician will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety and proper functioning of all pools, pool equipment and immediately surrounding areas, including pumps, filters, chemical treatment equipment, and poolside amenities. They will also assist in monitoring pool safety standards, perform routine inspections, and address any technical issues promptly to provide guests with a safe and enjoyable swimming experience.
Summary of Main Duties:
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Always maintain positive guest relations by anticipating guest needs, and by acknowledging and responding promptly to guest concerns.
- Takes personal responsibility for adequately resolving guest complaints by initiating service recovery techniques to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Inspect pools on daily basis and follow the proper procedures for cleaning and sanitizing.
- Tests the chemical balance of pool.
- Treats water with chemicals and reports water quality to supervisor.
- Maintains appropriate levels of chemicals and cleaning agents.
- Physically inspects the pools along with drains and filters to ensure that they are free of debris and properly functioning.
- Daily inspects safety equipment and keeps inspections up to date.
- Regularly inspects decks for defects and reporting to immediate supervisor.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas inclusive of pump rooms.
- Check daily work and service orders for any problems, make assessments and complete assignments to expected standards.
- Maintain timeliness and work schedule in accordance with the preventative maintenance program.
- Complete internal or guest related, service requests logs required.
- Maintain proper use, cleaning, and storage of all tools, equipment and supplies.
- Report any equipment failure or maintenance defects to the Pool Supervisor and frequently check to ensure defects are fixed.
- Complete relevant reports in accordance with departmental standards.
- Maintain safety standards.
- Consistently use all software and hardware assigned to enhance service delivery.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

- Proficiency in the handling of hazardous chemicals.
- The ability to compute basic math calculations.
- Manual dexterity the ability to operate pool maintenance tools and equipment.

- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- The ability to stand for long periods of time, transport tools, equipment and pool supplies safely.
- The ability to work around dust, fumes and chemicals safely.
- The ability to communicate agreeably with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings as scheduled.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a pool technician in the hospitality industry would be an asset.
- Certification in pool operation and maintenance would be an asset.
