TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS

SALARY:                                           US$39,659.00 plus allowances

 

ROLE TYPE:                                    Full-Time

ROLE PURPOSE

The role of Police Constables within the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force is to contribute to making the Turks and Caicos Islands a safe and secure country in which to work, visit, grow, and live. Police officers work in partnership with the public and are on the front line in preventing and combating crime and the fear of crime. They adopt a citizen-focused approach, responding to the needs of individuals and communities. Using modern policing technologies, police officers are trained to manage information and intelligence to support successful court prosecutions and to effectively serve the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-          Conducting visible patrols and responding to incidents, emergencies, and calls for service.

-          Investigating criminal offences, managing crime scenes, gathering intelligence, and preparing case files for prosecution.

-          Executing warrants and performing court-related duties, including giving evidence when required.

-          Engaging in community policing, crime prevention, and victim support.

-          Enforcing traffic laws and attending road-related incidents.

-          Working collaboratively within operational teams and supporting Force objectives; and

-          Complying with all laws, Force policies, regulations, and lawful instructions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

-          High school diploma and successful completion of the Initial Police Training Course (or an equivalent recognized police training program).

-          Minimum five (5) years of service as a sworn Police Constable/Police Officer (or equivalent) within a recognized law enforcement agency.

-          Demonstrated experience in beat and patrol operations, initial investigations, statement taking, and court procedures.

-          Proven ability to work collaboratively with communities and partner agencies, including emergency response stakeholders.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This appointment will be made on a three-year fixed term contract, which can be extended on such terms and for such period as may be mutually agreed. Salary US$39,659 plus allowances. Annual leave with full pay will be granted in accordance with RTCIPF leave. Leave must be taken during the term of employment.
