Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Plant Manager will oversee production, quality, safety, and workforce management to ensure the highest standards of efficiency, compliance, and product excellence.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at our baking manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Plant Manager will oversee production, quality, safety, and workforce management to ensure the highest standards of efficiency, compliance, and product excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Direct and coordinate daily plant operations to meet production targets.
  • Develop and monitor plant budgets, operational plans, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and repair of equipment to minimize downtime.

Quality & Safety

  • Implement and monitor quality control programs in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team.
  • Ensure adherence to product formulae, standards, and sanitation protocols.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.

Human Resource Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop plant staff to achieve organizational goals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, recommend training, and manage recruitment, promotions, and disciplinary actions in line with HR policies.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.

Strategic Contribution

  • Participate in the development of company-wide strategic and operational plans.
  • Optimize resource utilization (labour, raw materials, equipment) to achieve cost-effective production.
  • Represent the company positively with stakeholders, including customers and community partners.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of production and operations management in the food industry.
  • Expertise in quality control and total quality management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage competing prioritise with efficiency and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in production management, Food Technology, Chemistry, Management Studies, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in baking or food production.
  • Proven track record of managing plant operations and leading diverse teams.
