We are actively recruiting a Plant Electrician to support our project in Antigua. The Plant Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment used in civil construction projects. This includes mobile and stationary plant equipment, site power systems, lighting, and temporary electrical installations. The electrician ensures all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and project specifications.

What You’ll Do Here:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes.
• Install and maintain electrical power distribution equipment such as transformers, generators, voltage regulators, switches, circuit breakers, capacitors, inductors, above/below ground conduit, ground grid, structural steel and fabricate control panels, brackets, and hangers
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on construction plant machinery such as cranes, concrete mixers, batching plants, pumps, compressors, and generators.
• Inspect and test installed electrical equipment and apparatus to locate electrical faults and check their operation, using volt meters, ammeters and other electrical test instruments and equipment
• Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, health and safety standards, and project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, site managers, and other technicians to ensure timely completion of electrical tasks.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices.
• Assist in the installation of energy-efficient and safe construction practices.
• Work with heavy equipment and cranes
• Provide input relating to the resolution of any design or installation issue.
• Install, replace, and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.

What You Bring to The Team:

• Journeyman Electrician and industry related safety certification
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical commercial construction and maintenance
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and written
• Ability to work independently and cohesively within groups
• Capable of working at various heights. With the ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time.
• Mechanical strength and manual dexterity with the ability to distinguish colors to work with color-coded wiring
