Payroll Assistant
Centerfield is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our team. In this critical role, you will report directly to the Payroll Supervisor and play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation and benefits.
The Payroll Assistant will support the payroll department by verifying documentation, calculating retroactive payments, managing deductions, and assisting employees with payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll procedures and compliance requirements. Confidentiality, efficiency, and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities
· Monitor and manage payroll-related email correspondence, responding promptly and professionally.
· Calculate payroll variances, including hours worked and incentive-based retroactive payments.
· Review and verify the accuracy of payroll documentation such as:
o New hire reports
o Staff movement reports
o Gym/staff benefit reports
· Identify and correct errors or duplicates in payroll documentation.
· Accurately record and process employee salary deductions.
· Verify and process employee banking information updates to ensure secure and accurate payroll deposits.
· Review employee-submitted banking details for accuracy and completeness, then forward for further processing in compliance with company protocols and data protection standards.
· Organize and maintain payroll records and documentation.
· Handle general payroll inquiries and escalate complex matters as needed.
· Prepare and issue contribution letters and other payroll-related correspondence.
· Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, to complete payroll tasks efficiently.
