PROPERTY CONDITION ENGINEER

The property condition engineer is responsible for assessing, documenting, and reporting on the physical condition of resort properties, including architectural, structural, MEP, and fire life safety systems. This role supports the planning and execution of renovations, conversions, and ongoing maintenance by conducting detailed site inspections, collaborating with cross-functional teams, reviewing designs and budgets, and ensuring alignment with brand standards and long-term strategic goals. The engineer plays a key role in safeguarding asset integrity and supporting operational excellence across all properties.

Specific requirements/duties of the position include

  • Reviewing and interpreting project designs
  • Overseeing new projects, conversions, expansions, and renovations.
  • Conducting on-site inspections of MEP systems, fire and life safety systems, FF&E, interiors, and architectural conditions
  • Assisting with budget development, reviewing vendor quotes and proposals
  • Preparing reports and presentations to communicate inspection findings and recommendations.
  • Maintaining and updating property condition documentation, ensuring alignment with the property activity matrix.
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of brand design standards, safety protocols, risk mitigation, and strategic objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical.
  • ASHRAE, ASME, and IBC certificates are desirable
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in a similar role
  • Six (6) or more years’ professional experience as an engineer
  • Exposure to project design, renovations, construction, and installations.
  • Proven experience in leading a team of engineers.
  • Excellent people skills and good communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work on multi-task projects at one time.
  • Computer literate, skillful with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, webinars, Teams, email, CAD, Bluebeam, Adobe, and Procore.
