FIRE, LIFE AND SAFETY MANAGER

The Fire Life Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fire prevention, life safety systems, and compliance across development and operational projects. This includes managing fire alarm and protection systems, ensuring adherence to local and international safety regulations, coordinating with design and technical teams, conducting inspections, and supporting health and safety requirements from project inception through to opening and handover.

Specific requirements/duties of the position include

• Taking full ownership of assigned projects, working independently while engaging support teams
• Coordinating with MEP, architects, IT, security, and local authorities to support fire alarm & protection systems, structured network designs, internal/external coordination, site inspections, and system validations.
• Managing company interest in all Technical Services Fire Life Safety (FLS) aspects across Caribbean-based projects, including new builds, conversions, expansions, and renovations.
• Supporting brand equity building by enforcing compliance with Sandals Brand Standards and design intentions.
• Collaborating with project design consultants to achieve optimized designs and efficient project execution.
• Partnering with the design team to develop practical and brand-appropriate design solutions.
• Working closely with project teams, general managers, and maintenance engineering teams during the pre-opening and handover phases.
• Conducting inspections and developing FLS property condition reports for selected conversion projects.
• Ensuring compliance with construction Health and Safety requirements throughout the project lifecycles

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in fire safety, SFPE, NICET, PMP, or SAFe Scrum (SSM) desirable.
• Thirteen (13) or more years of experience in a similar role
• Proven management experience in luxury hotel project design and planning of fire safety engineering.
• A holistic approach to construction procedures and practices applied to building design, human behavior, and risk assessment.
• Excellent people skills and good communication, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work on multi-task projects at one time.
• Computer literate, skillful with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, webinars, Teams, email, CAD, Bluebeam, Adobe, and Procore.
