PR and Communications Lead

 

We’re seeking a skilled PR and Communications Lead to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a confident communicator and strategic leader who excels in media relations, client management, and creative storytelling. In this position, you will manage and guide a team, so strong leadership skills are essential. Experience in a supervisory role is a must, you’ll be expected to lead a team and drive high-level client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated PR and communication strategies

  • Manage multiple client accounts with professionalism and attention to detail

  • Oversee and guide junior team members; provide mentorship and performance feedback

  • Review press releases, content, and other work submitted by the team for approval

  • Build and maintain strong media relationships across various sectors

  • Write and edit press releases, speeches, talking points, and thought leadership pieces

  • Direct crisis communication efforts and reputation management strategies

  • Collaborate with digital and social teams to ensure consistent cross-platform messaging

  • Support planning and execution of client events, media briefings, and sponsorship activations

  • Prepare detailed media coverage reports and campaign performance insights for clients

  • Monitor industry trends, media shifts, and competitor activity to strengthen client strategies

  • Provide strategic counsel to clients, recommending proactive PR opportunities

  • Assist in preparing proposals or pitches for potential new clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in public relations or communications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role is required

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and client management abilities

  • Established network of media contacts with a track record of successful media placements

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment

  • Strategic thinker with a creative edge and proactive problem-solving skills

  • Willingness and ability to work outside of regular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by client events and operational demands
