We are seeking an experienced and strategic professional to join our team in the role of People & Employee Relations Manager.

This role is ideal for a confident and solutions-driven HR and Employee Relations professional who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about creating fair, compliant, and productive workplaces.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee grievance and disciplinary processes to ensure fairness, consistency, and compliance.
  • Conduct or guide investigations into employee misconduct or complaints.
  • Support leaders and managers in effectively resolving workplace conflicts and issues promptly and constructively to mitigate risks.
  • Guide and consult on all compensation and benefits processes, including payroll, job analysis and job evaluations, leave management and participation in compensation surveys to enable management to make informed decisions related to staff.
  • Lead Employee Relations/Industrial Relations matters and partner with senior business leaders and HR leaders to develop and implement a robust Employee Relations strategy.
  • Lead Collective Bargaining/Negotiations for Unionized Collective Bargaining Unit.
  • Work closely with the Health and Safety, and Risk Management function and business managers to ensure that accidents/incidents are reported and investigated, manage return to work and access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) services.
  • Lead Job Analysis and Job Evaluation exercises.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource management or Law (LLB).
  • Post Graduate or professional certification in Industrial Relations or Employment Law is required. 
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Corporate/Commercial Law, Employee or Industrial Relations in both unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a Human Resource leadership role.
  • Experience in a private sector and multinationals will be considered an asset.
  • Expert knowledge of Labour Legislation and HR best practices.
  • Change Management experience and business partnering and consulting with Executive and Senior Management.
