Optical Clerk

The Optical Clerk ensures the proper operation of the Optical Center and provides excellent service to members. This position promotes the sale of available optical products and maintains correct product merchandising in accordance with PriceSmart’s guidelines and merchandising strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the Optical Center is well organized, clean, and visually appealing at all times.
• Verify that all displayed products are properly labeled and priced.
• Promote and sell optical products, providing accurate information and quality service to members.
• Monitor inventory levels of optical products and supplies, ensuring adequate stock is available.
• Maintain accurate inventory control in line with company standards and procedures.
• Verify the proper functioning of Optical Center facilities and equipment, including lighting, displays, and security systems.
• Report any maintenance, inventory, or operational issues to the appropriate Supervisor.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

What We’re Looking For:

• High School Diploma.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic lenses and contact lenses.
• Ability to measure pupillary distance (PD) and determine bifocal and progressive lens heights.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic and contact lens materials.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control procedures.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferably previous experience in a similar position.
• Basic knowledge of computer programs.
• Strong teamwork skills.

• Must be able to work flexible shifts.
