The Operations Supervisor acts as the Middle Office liaison for AMBL’s DCM, Asset Finance, Treasury, and Investment teams, ensuring operational requirements are met. Key to risk mitigation, the role enforces adherence to all operational procedures.
Job Summary:
The Operations Supervisor serves as the “Middle office” liaison for AMBL’S Debt Capital
Markets (“DCM”) Team, Asset Finance, Treasury and Investment departments and plays an
important role in fulfilling AMBL’s operational requirements for all departments. He / She is an
important part of the risk mitigation controls and must ensure all operational procedures are
adhered to.
Responsibilities:
• Managing the processing of new client applications, ensuring conformity with Banking sector's compliance requirements.
• Ensure all customers and transactions are entered and approved in accordance with the authority limits set.
• Oversee and manage all transaction entry and approval of the Company's Investments, Merchant Banking, Foreign Exchange, Fixed Deposits and Asset Finance. (Banking Sector)
• Review of transactions, investigation of all trade settlements, reconciliation of any trade discrepancies and work directly with counter parties to ensure timely settlement.
• Managing the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring that all transactions are accurately accounted for in a timely manner.
• Ensure the daily and monthly NAV and Bond valuation together with supporting schedules, are prepared in an accurate and timely manner.
• Manage the entry of all Mutual Fund subscriptions, redemptions and withdrawals on IT system on the day that such transactions occur.
• Manage the preparation of Fund settlement letters, USD & TTD Cheques for foreign exchange, investment services, mutual funds, merchant banking and Treasury.
• Ensure all payments to customers/ investors are processed within the timelines set.
• Prepare various daily, monthly and quarterly financial and regulatory reports.
• Co-ordinate both internal and external auditors.
• Responsible for the day to day management of duties of team members in the Operations Department, ensuring that duties are allocated to ensure that processes remain efficient control is maintained at all times.
• Assisting the Operations Manager with the development of staff through coaching and support development of all Operations team members.
• Assist in various departmental projects, including but not limited to system upgrades/conversions, conversions of new business and streamlining of processes
• Any other tasks or projects as requested by the Operations Manager
Basic Qualifications:
• Banking or Financial Services experience
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred major or concentration in Business/Finance)
• Five (5) years' experience working in a high-volume environment
• Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and accounting software
• Read, analyse and interpret procedures and statutory regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
• Apply generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
• Ability to work well under pressure and multitask
• Make sound decisions and use good judgement while problem solving
Skills:
• Prior experience with Bloomberg, Trade Flow and a working knowledge of trade processing.
• Strong analytical skills and high level of attention to detail.
• Great ability to manage workflow where the frequency of transactions can vary with short notice.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines with traders, brokers and custodians.
• Relationship building skills to establish rapport with business, operations and technology
