The Operations Officer acts as the middle office liaison for AMBL’s DCM, Asset Finance, Treasury, and Investment teams, ensuring operational compliance, risk controls, and adherence to all procedures.

Job Summary:

The Operations Officer serves as the “Middle office” Liaison for AMBL’s Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”) Team, Asset Finance, Treasury and Investment departments and plays an important role in fulfilling AMBL’s operational requirements for all departments. He / she is an important part of the risk mitigation controls and must ensure all operational procedures are adhered to.

Duties:

• Maintain a register of clients including contact details and Bank instructions.
• Transaction entry for the Company’s Investments, Merchant Banking, Foreign Exchange, Fixed Deposits, Asset Finance and Mutual Funds.
• Ensure that relevant supporting documentation for each transaction is approved, attached and filed.
• Prepare Audit Confirmations requested by clients.
• Support all fixed income trading activities from the fixed income trading team through trade verifications, which includes the following:-
  o Review of transactions, investigation of all trade settlements, and reconciliation of any trade discrepancies and work directly with counterparties to ensure timely settlement.
  o Prepare payment instructions (requisitions) to settle trades/investments executed by the
  Front Office team and follow through to ensure that transactions are settled in a timely
  manner.
  o Document and follow up on failed positions and trade breaks, claims, and charges.
  o Ensure that all trades are recorded and filed on the day trade is completed.
  o Confirm receipt of funds from all investors as per sales confirmations for Merchant Banking transactions.
  o Entry of all Mutual Fund subscriptions, redemptions and withdrawals on IT system on the
  day that such transactions occur.
  o Monthly Bond Valuation for securities which are not listed on an exchange.
  o Weekly NAV Calculations for the Ansa Mutual Funds.
• Preparation of sale and deal confirmations for investors for deals executed by the front office.
• Liaise/ follow up with our treasury team on all receipts and disbursements fund movements.
• Reconcile Trading Portfolios to the General/Sub-Ledger Report.
• Serve as liaison between clients, counterparties and internal groups.
• Verification of CFETS and inputting payments on Citi Direct.
• Preparation of Fund settlement letters, USD & TTD Cheques for foreign exchange, investment services, mutual funds, merchant banking and treasury.
• Downloading a summary of wire transfers and deposits for Treasury on a daily basis.
• Downloading and analysis of all bank statements.
• Verification of CBTT Daily reports.
• Balancing cashier and vault duties.
• Filing of all payment vouchers.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred major or concentration in Business/Finance) or studying towards a relevant professional qualification e.g. ACCA/CIMA
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in trade support, back office, or middle office with experience in trade matching, confirmation, and/or settlement of Equities and Fixed Income Instruments, as well as retail/corporate loans.
• Basic knowledge of capital market products (treasuries, agencies, corporates, structured products, repos, equities).
• Experience processing investment products
• Experience processing retail/corporate loan facilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word.

Experience

• Prior experience with the use Bloomberg, Trade Flow and a working knowledge of trade
  processing.
• Prior experience with the use T24 system.
• Strong analytical skills and high level of attention to detail.
• Great ability to manage workflow where the frequency of transactions can vary with short notice.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines with traders, brokers and custodians.
• Relationship building skills to establish rapport with business, operations and technology
• Good attitude and highly motivated self-starter
