Occupational Health and Safety Manager - Asset Management

Manager of Occupational Health & Safety and Asset Management

 

Role Overview

Responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) programs and Asset Management systems to ensure a safe working environment, reduce risk, and maintain compliance with ISO standards. Coordinates enterprise-wide OHS strategies, crisis response arrangements, and manages the Asset Management system in alignment with ISO 55001.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for OHS and Asset Management initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve Environmental Health & Safety Management Systems based on ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 55001 standards.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and statutory regulations while driving continuous improvement in OHS programs.
  • Chair internal committees to develop OHS policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Oversee audits, risk registry reviews, and corrective actions for management systems.
  • Manage procurement of OHS supplies and vendor relationships.
  • Analyze sick-loss reports to identify compliance issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Develop crisis management communication plans and ensure readiness for emergencies.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly OHS reports to the Director of OSH.

 

Specific Duties

  • Supervise daily operations, work plans, and staff performance.
  • Monitor industry trends and participate in professional meetings to stay current on best practices.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations; ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
  • Implement control measures to minimize hazards and occupational risks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and record-keeping for OHS compliance.
  • Promote OHS awareness through internal communications and ensure contractor compliance with company policies.
  • Support integrated ISO systems, BCM, and EMS programs.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Engineering, Safety, Occupational Health, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years in OHS management or 5+ years in safety-related roles.
  • Certification in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 55001.
  • Proven experience managing ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 systems.

 

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to analyze programs, policies, and operational needs; implement improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating safety and training programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
