The incumbent shall supervise and maintain the Credit Union’s computer network system (hardware and software) in consultation with Management and; in liaison with service providers.

  1. Supports the management of the Credit Union’s computer network including all hardware, software, servers, external devices, and backup power supplies
  2. Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software and hardware
  3. Supports the network’s capability to handle the organization’s data operations; produces various required reports and printed materials
  4. Coordinates the use of passwords and other protective measures (including firewalls, anti-virus, and anti-spyware applications) necessary to preserve the system/network integrity and prevent abuse. 
  5. Monitors the system to ensure that it is not compromised by unauthorized use, spyware, or malware (i.e. virus, Trojans, worms) and to ensure that the environments around computers and network elements are kept free of clutter.
  6. Coordinates a daily log of major system events – downtimes and causes, servicing schedules, updates, UPS status readings, etc.
  7. Advises on the appropriate maintenance and update for hardware and software and maintains the proper physical appearance and safety of office equipment
  8. Liaises with IT service providers
  9. Trains and sensitizes the general staff complement, including the preparation of user-friendly toolkits and manuals
  10. Supports the management of the Credit Union’s in-house capabilities in managing its website.
  11. Troubleshoots issues within the Credit Union’s local area network, wide area network, and other network segments.
  12. Supervises network support personnel and functions
  13. Performs other related functions as assigned by their manager
