Mix Plant Operator

Summary: To make the mixes for ice-cream production. To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time as well as to achieve individual outputs to support the team in meeting the production goals.

RESPONSIBILITY AND STANDARDS

20 % of Responsibility

AUTONOMOUS MAINTENANCE

1.    Clean machines as per operational standards.

2.    Lubricate as per maintenance schedule each lubricating point.

3.    Conduct machine inspection ensuring the correct set up and alignment, identifying leaks and note any out of standard condition.

4.    Conduct Startup and Shutdown operations, referenced by the Startup and Shutdown procedures as well as the Startup checklist.

60% of Responsibility

PRODUCTION

1.   Liase with the Shift Supervisor and confirm the production schedule

2.  Ensure that sufficient and correct ingredients for the mix are ordered from the Warehouse per shift for the making of the mix.

3.  Unpack ingredients in plant.

4.  Generate batch numbers as per production cycle.

5.  Produce batches as specified by the formula necessitated by shift

6.  Add ingredients to the mixer in the correct sequence and quantity

7.  Responsible for the effective carrying out of the pasteurizing process by heating the mix.

8.  Monitor pasteurizing process to ensure heating temperatures are maintained.

9.  Daily monitor and log for time, start and end temperatures at the start of each mix.

MONITORING OF MACHINES

1.  Monitor pipes’ connection between the pasteurizing, homogenous and cooling machines to ensure only tanks to receive the mix are open.

2.  Monitors and selects the aging tanks to be used for storing the mix.

3.  Reports promptly machine malfunctions.

Performance Standards

of Measure

1.  100% of the time, the correct batch is determined.

2.  100% accuracy in the quantity of ingredients that are ordered and used.

3.  100%  process for adding ingredients to the mix is adhered to.

4.  Batch pasteurizing is done at 65℃ for 30 minutes

5.   Times, start and end temperatures are continuously logged throughout the day

20% of Responsibility

 SANITATION

1.  Daily sanitize the mixing and pasteurizing tanks at the start of each work day or as required.

2.  Swab tanks after cleaning to determine the effectiveness of the just completed sanitation activities

3.  Assist with sanitation activities throughout the shift such as cleaning of tools and equipment.

4.  Maintain hygienic conditions by using “Clean as You Go” Principles.

5.  Report potential contamination/ health & safety issues to management.

6.  Adheres to GMP and Health & Safety Guidelines/Standards.

7.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

of Measure

1.  No harmful bacteria are found in mix.

2.  99% Pass rate for swabs.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Academic Qualification: 

• C.X.C passes in Mathematics and English
• NTEI HEART Certification
• Food Handler’s Permit

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:

• Minimum 2 year’s working experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Trouble shooting capabilities
