Merchandising Supervisor

To ensure optimal stocking, assist in sales forecasting, provide range guidance to stores, ensure competitive pricing and promotional activity for assigned categories to ensure achievement of the company’s sales and margin budget.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
• Conducts market research on new market trends, new products being released and what items are no longer attractive to consumers
• Analyzes past performance trends and forecasts future for changes with respect to any items or merchandise in the market
• Ensure data accuracy on the operating system is maintained on all items sold such as description of item, Supa shield, prices, etc.
• Conduct visits at competitor stores to assess pricing and product offerings/ trends
• Visit Unicomer stores to ensure range and ticketing compliance
• Conducts product training in conjunction with training team
• Preparation of nominations for ads and brochures ensuring accuracy in description, image and pricing of products
• Preparation of reports ensuring accuracy of all information
• Continuous maintenance of items on alternative sales channels
• Performs any other supporting duties requested by the Commercial Management team.

JOB SPECIFICATION:
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
• Diploma in Business/Management Studies or related discipline
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Three (3) years’ experience in the retail industry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Must be organized, persistent and committed, able to cope well in stress-related environments and possess computer literacy skills
• Strength in decision-making
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
