The Medical Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling the entire line of pharmaceutical products by visiting doctors, clinics, hospitals and pharmacies in an assigned district.
Arranging appointments with medical physicians , pharmacists and other related medical personnel and institutions which may include pre-arranged appointments and regular monthly calling.
Effective detailing and promotion of the company’s products to key opinion leaders in the medical fraternity as out lined by the Marketing manager and Brand Manager in Health and Wellness.
Detailing and promoting the company’s products to pharmacists as out lined by the Marketing manager and Brand Manager in Health and Wellness.
Development of government and private institutional business as out lined by the Marketing manager and Brand Manager in Health and Wellness.
Making presentations to medical physicians, pharmacists and other related medical personnel and institutions. Presentations may take place in medical settings during the day, or may be conducted in the evenings at a local conference venue.
Keeping up-to-date with the latest clinical data supplied by the company, and interpreting, presenting and discussing this data with health professionals during presentations and training.
Building and maintaining positive working relationships with medical staff and supporting administrative staff;
Keeping detailed records of all contacts and complete call report by either the supplier or AMCO
Achievement of monthly in-market sales. Thereby reaching (and if possible exceeding) annual sales targets set in the KPIs.
Planning work schedules and weekly and monthly timetables.
Regularly attending company meetings, technical data presentations and briefings;
Monitoring competitor activity and competitors' products.
Perform other related duties as required by job function.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Science, Marketing & Sales or Professional qualification in a Health related field e.g. Pharmacy or Business Administration.
Good understanding of the Pharmaceutical industry.
At least 1 - 2 years sales /promotion experience in pharmaceutical products or high technology or professional use products.
Excellent problem solving and creativity skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of selling analysis.
Computer literate with the ability to produce reports and justifications based on market data.
