SUPERVISOR LOCATION:

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: Ensures daily production conforms to the production

planning as per sales projections.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees the activities of the department in order to meet the sales plan, the margin of profit and market penetration by monitoring the quality of the meat,

chicken and deli. .

Verify presentation of products, expiration dates and the appropriate cuts

according to standards.

Ensure daily production is performed according to the procedures of quality and

safety as established by the company.

AS A MANAGER/SUPERVISOR AND EMPLOYEE OF PRICESMART, THE INCUMBENT OF THIS POSITION HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY TO:

REQUIREMENTS:

(Minimum required education and/or formal training, knowledge, skills, experience)

  • Minimum two (2) years of university-based studies in Business Administration or similar areas. Degree preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the retail environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, demonstrate teamwork and provide leadership.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Food handling certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, JD Edwards and AS400.
  • Proficient in English and/or Spanish languages (verbal and written).

 

 

OTHER TASKS:

  • Analyzes work methods and distribution to eliminate idle time and maximize employee’s productivity and ensure appropriate levels of staffing.
  • Keep control of inventory and labeling of products in the Department to ensure compliance with the principle of "first in-first out (FIFO)".
  • Check the inventory items are properly organized and stored in the designated storage and arranged in crates and pallets according to company standards.
  • Generates and reviews reports as required for the department.
  • Request materials and equipment in the Department, promoting the efficient use and monitoring expiration dates.
  • Monitor and support studies that reveal the prices of competing products and reports the findings.
  • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales.
  • Monitors employees’ compliance of Food Handling Certificates and badge
  • Ensures compliance with procedures in the opening and closing of the Club in accordance to checklist.
  • Monitors throw away items on a daily basis.
  • Performs Manager on Duty functions as required.
  • Plans, Supervisors and inputs into the system employee schedules and changes necessary.
  • Monitors employees’ performance, and reviews training needs as required.
  • Prepare materials for the Department and maintain updated control of inventory.
  • Responsible for the efficient administration of department budget.
  • Maintain and control the preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment.
  • Train the staff in your department to use, maintain and operate properly all the equipment.
  • Upholds and manages health, safety and hygiene in the area.
