Sagicor Investments Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Treasury & Trading team in the capacity of:

 Manager - Treasury & Trading

Take responsibility for the management of the investment portfolio on balance sheet of Sagicor Investments Jamaica Limited and Sagicor Investments Cayman Limited.

Provide leadership to a team focused on the management of liquidity and market risk including foreign currency and interest rate risk.

Provide leadership support to the Stockbrokerage unit along with Bond Trading as defined in each entity’s investment policy and in line with all regulatory requirements.

Location: Kingston

As Manager - Treasury & Trading, you will:

• Make asset allocation recommendations to AVP /SVP GTAM/CIO/CEO - SIJL and management of the Funds Under Management for the Company (SIJ).
• Execute investment transactions for SIJ and its affiliates ensuring its timeliness and accuracy.
• Participate in the Primary Dealer Market Offerings of GOJ and BOJ instruments, and supervise BOJ reporting mechanism.
• Liquidity Management:
• Ensure that the liquidity ratios as prescribed by ERM and regulatory bodies are adhered to.
• Assist with long term cashflow forecasts in order to strengthen SIJL’s management of liquidity risks as recommended by the FSC.
• Assist with updating the liquidity crisis management plan as required.
• Market Risk Management:
• Assist with the management of FX balance sheet exposures ensuring that both internal and regulatory limits are adhered to.
• Assist with the management of interest rate risks in line with the SIJ Investment Policy.
• Supervise all direct reports, and indirect reports, as needed.
• Prioritize work assignments and set completion dates for department, as needed.
• Evaluate performance and provide on-the- job training for team.
• Assist with the execution of trades on behalf of SIC within its prescribed Investment Policy guidelines.
• Monitor and deploy excess cash on behalf of said entity as per CIMA regulations.
• Perform any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar area of study or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Postgraduate studies or CFA designation is an asset.
• At least three (3) years’ working experience in Investment Management, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Expert knowledge of the local & International Markets.
• Working knowledge of Securities regulations.
• Proven leadership capabilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
• Good interpersonal and time management skills.
• Ability to create and manage change.
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
