The Manager, Credit Risk will develop, implement and maintain a formal, comprehensive Group Credit Risk Management framework that aligns with the company’s group strategy and goals and mitigates risks.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operational: Oversees the company’s Credit Risk Management function; identifies, analyses, investigates, and reviews credit risks, and implements corrective action, conducts environmental / economic scans and trend analyses to understand the credit risk landscape.
  • Strategic: Delivers strategic advice, support and recommendations to enable informed decision making and strategy development; supports the Chief Risk Officer to drive adoption of a high-performance culture within the Department.
  • Reporting: Reviews, approves and presents reports to various internal and external stakeholders e.g. CRO, Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee, Regulatory Bodies etc.
  • People: Leads and supervise staff, work with internal stakeholders to foster a culture of risk management, manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Supports the evaluation of potential impacts of new products or processes on long-term growth and profitability. 

Required Qualifications, Expertise and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in credit risk management and/or credit analysis.
  • Demonstrable experience in a supervisory position.
  • Substantial / In Depth knowledge of financial and regulatory guidelines and legal requirements and controls (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering), industry laws, regulations and compliance requirements pertaining to mortgage processing, fund management, investment activities and capital markets.
  • Substantial / In Depth knowledge of economics and accounting principles and practices.
  • Substantial / In Depth knowledge of financial markets, banking, and financial data analysis / reporting.
  • Expert / Extensive planning and organisational skills, interpersonal skills, ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ability to adjust positively to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change, ability to handle multiple demands in a deadline driven environment, ability to communicate complex goals, objectives and ideas clearly and consistently using a broad range of media, problem-solving skills.

  • High sense and level of discretion, integrity and ethics.
