The Manager, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships is responsible for driving revenue growth across SCHSBM’s enterprise portfolio through the identification, development, and conversion of high-value commercial opportunities.

Job Overview

The Manager, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships is responsible for driving revenue growth across SCHSBM’s enterprise portfolio through the identification, development, and conversion of high-value commercial opportunities.

The role leads the School’s business development function across the following revenue streams:

  • Academic Programmes
  • Consultancy & Applied Research
  • Executive Education & Professional Development
  • Room & Conference Services
  • Aviation Ground School

The position is externally focused and commercially driven, with responsibility for building strategic partnerships, securing contracts, and contributing directly to revenue growth and institutional impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 1.     Revenue Leadership and Pipeline Management

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned to SCHSBM’s revenue diversification objectives.
  • Build and manage a high-value pipeline across all revenue streams.
  • Lead opportunity development from origination to contract closure.
  • Drive achievement of revenue targets across executive education, consultancy, and enterprise services.
  • Oversee pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting.

2.     Strategic Partnerships and Client Engagement 

  • Develop and manage relationships with senior stakeholders across corporate, government, and international organisations.
  • Position SCHSBM as a strategic partner for leadership development, policy support, and organisational transformation.
  • Identify and cultivate long-term partnerships that generate recurring revenue streams.

3.     Proposal Leadership and Commercial Structuring

  • Lead the development of high-value proposals, tenders, and partnership agreements.
  • Ensure commercial viability, pricing integrity, and alignment with SCHSBM’s capabilities.
  • Oversee quality assurance of submissions and improve conversion rates.

4.     Market Development and Sector Strategy

  • Identify priority sectors and develop targeted engagement strategies.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform growth strategy.
  • Drive the development of new products and services aligned with market demand.

 5.     Cross-Unit Integration

  • Work closely with academic staff, consultancy teams, executive education, and aviation units to develop market-ready offerings.
  • Ensure alignment between business development activities and programme delivery capabilities.
  • Support the packaging of SCHSBM’s intellectual capital into commercially viable solutions.

6.     Revenue Stream Oversight

Provide leadership across all revenue streams:

  • Academic Programmes: Corporate partnerships and cohort development
  • Consultancy & Applied Research: Commissioned projects and advisory services
  • Executive Education & Professional Development: Customised and open enrolment programmes
  • Room & Conference Services: Commercial utilisation of facilities
  • Aviation Ground School: Partnerships and market expansion

7.     Performance Management and Reporting 

  • Monitor pipeline performance, conversion rates, and revenue outcomes.
  • Provide regular performance reports and strategic insights to the Executive Director.
  • Lead continuous improvement of business development processes and outcomes.

8.     General Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and coordination support for special projects as assigned.
  • Perform any other related duties as required by the Executive Director.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in business development, consulting, or commercial roles.
  • Proven track record of securing high-value contracts and partnerships.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders in public and/or private sectors.
  • Experience in higher education, consulting, or professional services is strongly preferred.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (required) in Business Administration (MBA), Management, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in business development, sales, or project management are an asset.
