Position Purpose

The Maintenance Technician ensures Island Grill locations operate safely and efficiently by performing routine and emergency repairs on HVAC, kitchen equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, and general facilities. This role requires technical skill, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work both independently and in a team within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring our restaurants operate at peak performance. You will:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and kitchen equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems across multiple restaurant locations.
  • Respond quickly to emergency maintenance requests and update relevant teams on progress.
  • Work closely with vendors, the Maintenance Supervisor, and restaurant teams to solve complex technical issues.
  • Track inventory and parts usage and complete required documentation using our CMMS system.
  • Uphold safety and hygiene standards (GMP, HACCP, OSH).

 Qualifications & Skills Required

  • HEART NSTA or similar certification in electrical, HVAC, or mechanical fields
  • 2+ years’ experience in maintenance or facility operations (restaurant industry a plus!)
  • Strong communication skills and good phone etiquette
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in cold/wet environments, and juggle multiple tasks
  • Must have a reliable motor vehicle
  • Must be willing to travel islandwide
