Purpose of the Job: 

The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the Facilities Coordinator and Maintenance Manager to maintain and support all facilities and transportation activities. The technician will be responsible for all upkeep and repair duties including maintaining company spaces, identifying the need for repairs, responding to maintenance requests and servicing company equipment. The maintenance technician will reduce the reliance on external contractors for maintenance and minor works repair. An effective technician must be skilled and hard working with outstanding problem-solving abilities. Skillful hands, good physical stamina and strong technical knowledge are important parts of the successful candidate’s talents.  

Responsibilities: 

• Perform basic tasks including painting and filling crevices, cleaning & care of facility related equipment and managing maintenance repairs.
• Perform repairs on company machinery, equipment, vehicles, appliances, furniture and facilities
• Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs
• Regularly check spaces to identify issues with litter, mechanical failure or breakdowns
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Setup and maintain spaces and the furniture within
• Undertake light installation and bulb replacement
• Complete carpentry & masonry projects
• Repair plumbing, electrical and safety systems
• Conduct performance assessment of company appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens and coffee makers
• Ensure reduction of reliance on external contractors

Requirements: 

• Highschool diploma or equivalent qualification
• A minimum of 1 Year working experience in a similar role
• Solid experience with masonry, dry wall, carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment
• Extremely organized with effective communication skills
• Detail oriented with an aptitude for problem solving
