The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the security and maintenance of the institution’s property, buildings, equipment, machinery and grounds. This position has significant impact on the effective use of the facilities.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
ü NVQ-J Level 5 Certification or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Construction or Electrical Engineering/Plant Maintenance
ü Supervisory Management Certification
ü At least three (3) years’ relevant experience in a comparable position and business environment such as: a polytechnic institution, a tertiary education college, a manufacturing company, a utilities company, or a hotel.

KEY DUTIES:
ü Participates in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the location’s operational plan and budget
ü Provides advice to the manager and department heads on equipment and maintenance issues
ü Prepares and submit activity and other reports as required
ü Prepares and monitor work schedule for staff supervised ensuring the efficient utilisation of human and other resources of the department
ü Ensures maintenance and other related records of the department are properly maintained
ü Monitors the performance of security, janitorial and other service providers/contractors to ensure adherence to terms and conditions of their contracts and make recommendations for corrective action where necessary
ü Develops and implement a preventative maintenance programme for buildings, machinery and equipment
ü Assesses the status of buildings, furnishing, electrical and other equipment and tools and make recommendations for repair/replacement as necessary
ü Collaborates with Building and Properties Department to ensure the timely execution of major projects
ü Organises and undertake routine and emergency repairs within established procedures/guidelines
ü Conducts staff Performance Appraisals for supervisees
ü Co-ordinates and monitor activities for multiple campuses
ü Travels to carry out maintenance duties
