Hardware & Lumber is looking for a versatile and dependable Maintenance Personnel to support the upkeep and functionality of our facilities.
This role is ideal for a generalist with hands-on experience in various maintenance areas including plumbing, painting, minor electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC support. While expertise in any one field is not required, a solid working knowledge across disciplines is essential.
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance across the facility.
Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing issues such as leaking faucets, clogged drains, or toilet malfunctions.
Assist with painting tasks including wall preparation, priming, and final coating for interior and exterior surfaces.
Conduct minor electrical repairs such as replacing light fixtures, bulbs, switches, and outlets.
Support HVAC system maintenance such as filter changes and basic diagnostics.
Assemble furniture and equipment as needed.
Maintain building exteriors, including basic landscaping or seasonal tasks (e.g., snow shoveling).
Coordinate with external vendors or specialized contractors when needed.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any recurring or serious issues to management.
Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during maintenance work.
High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical training is a plus.
Minimum 2 years of general maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial setting.
Broad working knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, diagrams, and technical documentation.
Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools.
Must be physically fit to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform tasks in varying conditions.
