Hardware & Lumber is looking for a versatile and dependable Maintenance Personnel to support the upkeep and functionality of our facilities.

Position Summary:

 This role is ideal for a generalist with hands-on experience in various maintenance areas including plumbing, painting, minor electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC support. While expertise in any one field is not required, a solid working knowledge across disciplines is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance across the facility.

  • Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing issues such as leaking faucets, clogged drains, or toilet malfunctions.

  • Assist with painting tasks including wall preparation, priming, and final coating for interior and exterior surfaces.

  • Conduct minor electrical repairs such as replacing light fixtures, bulbs, switches, and outlets.

  • Support HVAC system maintenance such as filter changes and basic diagnostics.

  • Assemble furniture and equipment as needed.

  • Maintain building exteriors, including basic landscaping or seasonal tasks (e.g., snow shoveling).

  • Coordinate with external vendors or specialized contractors when needed.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any recurring or serious issues to management.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during maintenance work.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical training is a plus.

  • Minimum 2 years of general maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial setting.

  • Broad working knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools.

  • Must be physically fit to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform tasks in varying conditions.
