Under minimum supervision lead all maintenance activities across the plant, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, reliability, and performance of critical production assets including extruders, conversion machines and manufacturing equipment.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance operations within the manufacturing facility to ensure maximum equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs for production lines, utilities, and plant infrastructure while supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume food and beverage manufacturing environment.
The Maintenance Manager will supervise maintenance personnel, manage maintenance planning and scheduling, and collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance of plant equipment.
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all plant equipment and utilities.
Ensure optimal performance of production machinery including bottling lines, filling systems, conveyors, packaging equipment, compressors, boilers, and refrigeration systems.
Utilize CMMS to manage work orders, track maintenance activities, and analyze equipment performance.
Establish maintenance KPIs including downtime reduction, MTBF, and maintenance cost control.
Lead daily maintenance operations including breakdown response, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.
Ensure timely maintenance support to production operations to minimize downtime and production losses.
Manage maintenance schedules to align with production planning and operational requirements.
Oversee plant utilities including electrical, mechanical, compressed air, water systems, and HVAC.
Supervise and develop a team of technicians, electricians, mechanics, and maintenance planners.
Provide coaching, training, and performance management for maintenance staff.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
Drive reliability-centered maintenance initiatives and root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures.
Lead equipment upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Support lean manufacturing, TPM, and operational excellence initiatives within the plant.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Maintain compliance with OSHA, environmental, and occupational safety regulations.
Support audits related to food safety standards such as HACCP, ISO, and GMP.
Ensure safe work practices and proper use of lockout/tagout procedures.
Develop and manage the maintenance department budget including spare parts inventory and contractor services.
Optimize inventory levels for critical spare parts and maintenance materials.
Manage relationships with equipment vendors, contractors, and service providers.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Minimum 7–10 years of maintenance experience in a food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing environment.
Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory maintenance role.
Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, utilities, and automated packaging lines.
Experience working with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
Familiarity with food manufacturing standards including HACCP, GMP, and ISO.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
