JOB SUMMARY:

To provide leadership and direction, within guidelines established by the company’s Executive and Board of Directors in the management of the company. With the support of a Management Team, the job holder is also responsible for the overall planning and directing of activities, which supports the organisation in achieving its strategic, operational and quality goals and objectives, and maintaining an efficient, cost- effective and profitable business operation.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Determine, implement and uphold the necessary operational controls, policies and systems, to ensure that the organisation’s reputation and market position are sustained, conflicts and changes are efficiently managed and effective corporate governance and responsibilities are maintained.
▪ Uphold all required legal and internal corporate governance activities and the maintenance of ethical business practices.
▪ Provide supporting oversight along with the Human Resources Manager to ensure that the company maintains sound employment and employee management practices, in accordance with industrial relations laws, practices and established norms, and to maintain strong employer branding.
▪ Analyze the company’s operations to evaluate adequacy and optimization of all resources in meeting strategic and operational objectives.
▪ Provide supporting oversight along with the Chief Financial Officer on the company’s financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments and increase efficiency.
▪ Evaluate operational activities to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement or policy change.
▪ Ensure that short and long term revenue and profitability targets are established and monitored continuously, and appropriate contingency plans are implemented for any unplanned events.
▪ Continually assess the business environment in which the company operates to determine the potential business opportunities that exist and evaluate the short and long-term feasibility of the available options for pursuit.
▪ Undertake appropriate and regular business planning, to ensure long term sustainability and operational continuity, as it relates to resource management and environmental/business changes influenced by political, economic, social, technological or legal events.
▪ Regularly review company performance to determine the benefits of strategies employed and the impact on profitability, shareholder and stakeholder value and confidence.
▪ Review/assess data and make appropriate decisions to secure and improve the organisation’s corporate position, by maximizing internal strengths and mitigating business weaknesses, threats, and competitive disadvantages.
▪ Provide direction in determining appropriate business development and marketing strategies, required to support corporate brand development, customer visibility and promotion of the company’s services.
▪ Maintain and strengthen relationships and company representation with key business partners and other major customers and principles, to ensure that the company is kept abreast of developments in the industry and are held in high regard by our clients.
▪ Provide leadership in the maintenance of established HSSE and Quality Management systems and certification.
▪ Provide leadership, strategic and operational guidance to Management Team.
▪ All other reasonably related responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
▪ Post Graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Management, from an accredited tertiary institution.
▪ Undergraduate degree in Business Management/Engineering from an accredited tertiary institution.

Experience:
▪ A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a similar leadership role and a successful track record of managing teams and driving business growth in an industrialized business environment.

Knowledge:
▪ A high level of proficiency in interpreting financial statements and strategic business planning such as SWOT and PESTEL analyses, to aid in decision making.
▪ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work to be executed primarily in an office environment and remotely via specific technology platforms.
This position will also include extensive air travel and sporadic customer visits for business engagements as needed.

Other conditions include:
▪ Extensive sitting for long hours executing desk-duties.
▪ The ability to use hands to handle and control office objects, tools, and equipment. Repeating motions may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
▪ The ability to wear the minimum level of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction, which may include but is not limited to, safety glasses and hearing protection where applicable.
▪ The ability to perform work with occasional walking and standing.
▪ The possibility of working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines may exist.
▪ The possibility of planned or unexpected work assignments outside of regular working hours/days may exist for this position.
