Maintenance Manager – Geejam Hotel, Portland, Jamaica

Salary Scale: JMD $4,000,000 – $5,000,000 per annum

Geejam Hotel, a well-established boutique hotel in Portland, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team during an exciting phase of growth and expansion.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a technically strong professional who leads by example, demonstrates best practices, and has the expertise and vision to restructure and elevate our maintenance department.

 The Role

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and executing all maintenance operations across the property, while remaining actively involved in specialist technical work as required.

You will:

• Lead, manage, and direct a multidisciplinary team of approximately12 staff members
• Oversee and coordinate:
• HVAC systems
• Electrical systems
• Plumbing systems
• Painting and finishing works
• Carpentry and structural maintenance
• General maintenance operations
• IT / technical support(an asset)
• Set operational standards through hands-on involvement and demonstration
• Implement and manage:
• Preventive maintenance schedules
• Improved systems, workflows, and reporting structures
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational best practices, and asset protection

Key Requirements

• Advanced specialist skills in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Refrigeration systems (essential)
• Proven experience managing and directing technical teams
• Strong practical background with the ability to personally troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Experience in the hotel/hospitality sector
• Demonstrated ability to restructure departments and raise operational standards
• IT systems knowledge or technical support experience is an advantage
• Highly organized, calm under pressure, proactive, and solutions-focused
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
