About the Role

The Maintenance Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all maintenance activities across multiple sites. This includes leading a skilled technical team, optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programmes, ensuring fleet and plant readiness, and implementing cost-effective strategies that enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and collaborates closely with key operational stakeholders.

 

The ideal candidate will thrive in the fast-paced construction environment and demonstrate flexibility to support operational demands, including availability during weekends and outside of standard business hours as required

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the maintenance operations across all locations with a strong emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance supervisors and support staff
  • Develop and implement improvement strategies to enhance maintenance practices, reduce operating costs, and increase equipment reliability
  • Partner with the HR department to implement safety programmes, reduce workplace accidents, and promote proper equipment care
  • Analyze and authorize equipment purchases and recommend training or disciplinary measures as needed
  • Establish work priorities, monitor equipment performance, and ensure timely maintenance interventions
  • Plan, organize, and direct vehicle and equipment maintenance activities, ensuring adequate staffing, tools, and spare parts availability
  • Oversee rapid turnaround of vehicle repairs to minimize operational downtime
  • Manage and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and spare parts usage
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Heavy Duty Vehicle Maintenance Management, Construction Management, Operations Management, or similar field
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical, and forecasting skills
  • Proven ability to manage maintenance across multiple sites
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership with a strong sense of urgency and a focus on performance improvement
