The successful candidate will be responsible for business process research and analysis, and the formulation, implementation and control of business strategies for the entire Corporation.

Applications are invited from nationals of Trinidad and Tobago to fill the position of “Manager, Business Systems” at the Point Lisas Industrial Port Development Corporation Limited.


JOB PURPOSE

The successful candidate will be responsible for business process research and analysis, and the formulation, implementation and control of business strategies for the entire Corporation. He / She will provide strategic and operational insights to improve the efficiency, and profitability of port operations. He / She will analyze operational and financial performance, to support strategic decision-making.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Business Process Optimisation

Analyses business processes and recommends areas for improvement.

Conceptualises projects aimed at improving operational efficiency or revenue generation and establishes the feasibility of projects prior to seeking approval.

 

 

 

Business Analytics

Develops reporting system for measuring and monitoring performance output of critical processes.

Gathers, reviews and analyses the business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports and other key metrics using data analytics tools.

Leads testing of recommended solutions and works with personnel to identify required changes.

 

 

Business Planning and Risk Monitoring

Facilitates the development of the Corporation’s strategic plans.

Guides the annual review of operational plans and ensures integration with the approved strategic plan for the Corporation.

Develops performance measurement criteria and standards, evaluates and determines intervention approaches where necessary.

Ensures strategic and operational risks are assessed and risk mitigation strategies are identified.

 

 

Project Management

Creates long and short-term project plans, including setting milestones targets.

Manages resources in accordance with project schedules.

Serves as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.

 

 

Change Management

Provides support to the Executive and Management teams in implementing change initiatives.

Develops and assists in the execution of plans that anticipate and minimize resistant behaviours from employees and stakeholders who are impacted by the changes.

Facilitates team meetings and delivers informative, well-organised presentations.

Performs any other related duties as may be directed by Management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 

 

Education/Training:     

Possession of BSc in Business Administration, Information Systems, Maritime Studies, Logistics or a related field. 

Relevant Master’s Degree would be an Asset.

Project Management certification would be an Asset.

Consideration will be given to candidates with a combination of relevant qualifications and experience.

Degrees must be from a recognized and Accredited Institution.

 

Experience:                    

A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in business analysis or a related field.

Two (2) – (3) years managerial or supervisory experience would be an asset

 

Certification and Licences:

Certificate of Good Character dated within six (6) months.

Valid Driver’s Permit.

 

Required Testing:   

The successful candidate will be required to undergo the following:

  • A full Medical Examination (inclusive of substance testing) to establish fitness for the position.
  • May be required to undergo a Psychometric Assessment.

 

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Maybe required to operate in the external environment from time to time

Must be able to wear and work in Personal Protective Equipment from time to time.

 

Knowledge:                     

In-depth knowledge of the internal and external environment.  Familiarity with business tools such as Power BI and other methodologies.  Strong knowledge of port operations, supply chain logistics or maritime trade would be an asset.

 

Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Proficiency with business analysis tools and methodologies.  Detailed-oriented, highly organized, self-motivating, flexible team-player. 

.

 

Abilities:

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, and gather data from different sources.  Ability to meet tight deadlines, analyze and evaluate data to present concise written reports.  Able to multi-task, handle a high volume of work and function in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
