SUMMARY:

We are seeking to recruit a Sales & Marketing Manager for one of our clients in the hospitality sector to oversee the entire sales and marketing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing plans and executing strategies to increase occupancy, maximize revenue, and enhance the company's brand image. This role involves cultivating and developing relationships with new and repeat clients/ guests, developing targeted marketing campaigns, managing sales efforts, and building relationships with key partners. The position is also responsible for growing the companies’ market share.

REPORTS TO: Managing Director and the General Manager

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and implement short and long-term marketing strategies to meet sales team goals of monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Actively seek new business using marketing campaigns, telemarketing, e-commerce, site visits, and other methods.
  • Creating a focus on attracting new business.
  • Maintain and promote a team work environment with effective and clear communication amongst co-workers.
  • The manager must maintain awareness of the factors that influence the hotel industry and gain a deep understanding of the needs and attitudes of the hotel’s key stakeholders.
    • Generate new business while also increasing customer loyalty by cultivating long-term relations with existing clients.
    • Evaluate market trends to determine pricing to balance costs, competition, and supply and demand; and presenting to management periodic reports on sales/marketing activities
    • Conduct market research to identify price of competing products, demand of products and other trends useful in taking key decisions
    • Prepare accurate and complete sales reports documenting marketing budgets, current market share, direct sales, and outline sales and marketing plans.
    • Consult with Sales executives and stakeholders to evaluate the company's performance.
    • Works with Sales executives to ensure their understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the segment.
    • Ensure the hotel meets or exceeds budgeted goals.
    • Follow and track company cross-sell procedures.
    • Utilize company profile database to determine geographic areas for travel agent calls while maintaining top and existing travel agent accounts.
    • Assists with the development and implementation of promotions, both internal and external.
    • Develop and send informative press releases to targeted lists highlighting all activities and promotions.
    • Evaluates and drives the hotel’s participation in the various sales channels, locally, regionally and internationally.
    • Participate in Corporate Revenue Management calls.
    • Build relationships with local businesses as well as local governmental Ministries and Departments.
    • Maintain contact with clients to assist them with post-sales services and help resolve issues or complaints.
    • Monitors all day-to-day activities of direct reports.
  • Provide coaching and counselling to sales and marketing staff to aid them in achieving job expectations
  • Works with management team to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers and the market.
  • Updating and owning the sales strategy & sales plan with the General Manager
  • Oversee and ensure the updates of rates, promotions and photos on company’s website are accurate.
  • Leads the sales functions to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel sales objectives. 
  • Participates in sales calls with members of the Sales’ team to acquire new business and/or close on business.

 QUALIFICATION/ SKILLS:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Degree in Sales / Business Management / Marketing Hotel and Restaurant Management, or an MBA would be an asset.
  • Must have a minimum of seven 7 to 10 years’ experience in a Sales and Marketing or similar field, of which 3 years functioning in a senior role.
  • Sales experience locally, regionally and internationally.
  • Should have experience and knowledge of hotel workings of/with kitchens, Events set-ups, and Front Desk and Housekeeping (rooms allocation).
