Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead the heart of their restaurant — the kitchen. This pivotal role demands a passion for culinary excellence, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive operational efficiency. The successful candidate will oversee all back-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, impeccable presentation, and a clean, safe, and productive working environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to achieve high performance, fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
  • Assist in hiring, scheduling, and managing staff to balance operational needs and budget requirements.
  • Conduct evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards, providing relevant safety training.
  • Manage supplier relationships, order products, oversee inventory, and control costs.
  • Plan and update menus, ensure recipes are followed, and maintain consistent quality and timely service.
  • Monitor kitchen workflows, reduce waste, and implement strategies to improve profitability.
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and well-maintained, coordinating repairs as needed.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a kitchen leadership role.
  • Strong culinary knowledge, including cooking techniques, food preparation, and safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage food costs and kitchen budgets.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills (English) and intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Valid food handler certificate.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
