The Jr Systems Administrator supports the firm and clients by writing and executing MySQL statements for ETL file requirements, assisting with monitoring, configuring, and updating Windows workstations and Linux servers, and supporting internal systems and services.

Position in the Organization  

The Jr Database Administrator reports to the Director of Information Technology and Executive Director. 

Main Purpose and Scope of Job 

The Jr Systems Administrator will support the firm and its clients by writing and executing MySQL statements to meet predetermined file layout requirements in an Extract / Transform / Load (ETL) environmentwork with Systems Administration staff to monitor / configure / update Windows workstationsLinux servers, and use/manage/support internal services.  

Database Administrator Responsibilities  

  • Assist Systems Administrators with the upkeep, deployment, and recovery of internal systems such as compute clusters (VM/Kubernetes), services (DNS, ADDC, Proxy, VPN). 

  • Assist in managing runtime production systems (Voice Systems, Internal Dashboard, etc.) utilization/availability and monitoring/reporting on system performance and load balancing, and compliance. 

  • Responding in a timely manner to staff-reported errors. 

  • Responsible for data imports into the database for operations. 

  • Utilize PostgreSQL/MySQL statements to update data in the database. 

  • Extraction of data into necessary formats for delivery to both internal and external clients & stakeholders. 

  • Analyzing and checking data in the database/exports to maintain data integrity before file-share. 

  • Assist with internal platform management, such as adjustment of templates, call scripts, and campaign settings. 

Knowledge and Education  

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is requiredEquivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. 

  • Ability to handle confidential material; must demonstrate high levels of integrity and trustworthiness. 

  • A minimum of one-year experience with Linux or other terminal-based shells such as PowerShell. 

  • A minimum of two-years' experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL. 

  • Experience in Database Encryption is a plus. 

  • Experience with other databases (PostgreSQL / CouchDB / ClickHouse / MongoDB / etc.) considered
