Job Summary:

To define requirements, design and implement innovative, effective software solutions that support the business in delivering efficient services.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyse information for developing and modifying IT systems, using appropriate methods.
  • Document fact-finding and study results and make presentation of findings and recommendations in formal reports or in oral presentation.
  • Evaluate and document current systems operations.
  • Represent the department at meetings.
  • Liaise with project team or requesters to provide status updates regarding progress of IT projects and requests.
  • Liaise with software vendors for support, fixes, upgrades to systems.
  • Prepare detailed specifications from which complete sets of programs will be written.
  • Prepare project definition and design documents for user sign-off.
  • Determine timelines based on system design.
  • Approve program changes and conduct unit and system tests to ascertain their accuracy when necessary.
  • Review programs for deployment to production environment
  • Oversee post implementation activities including quality assurance reviews.
  • Guide the implementation of business applications and processes in accordance with established standards.
  • Investigate and resolves production issues in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Work closely with personnel in problem areas to gather information, and defines system objectives, applying where appropriate current technology to the solutions of problems.
  • Work closely with business units including managers and other team members to make appropriate business and application integration decisions.

Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science from a recognized tertiary institution

Minimum five (5) years’ experience developing web and enterprise systems

Certification in Database Management and Administration - MS SQL, Oracle

 

Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in web, mobile and enterprise systems design and support.

Expertise in the use of source control systems.

Expertise in the use of PHP, .NET (C#, VB.NET) development languages

Strong proficiency in SQL development
