The Security Supervisor will organize and oversee all security operations at the site. Security personnel will be under your command while you develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards.

Summary

The Security Supervisor will organize and oversee all security operations at the site. Security personnel will be under your command while you develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards. The Security Supervisor will demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills. In this role, you will need a strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety. You will have several people under your responsibility and as such in this role, you must also exhibit leadership skills.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Implement organizational process or policy changes.
  • Develop safety standards, policies, or procedures.
  • Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, following emergency response procedures.
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property.
  • Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols to direct Manager.
  • Report any threat or incident to the direct Manager.
  • Supervise security professionals, performing activities, training of our internal process, assigning work, evaluating performance, or disciplining.
  • Complete bi-weekly incident reports, infraction logs, etc.
  • Conduct physical examinations of property to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
  • Manage investigation requests, including collection of video and notes of surveillance processes or investigative interviews.
  • Prepare reports or monthly overviews of security challenges and how they were overcome.

 

 

Required Skills, Abilities, Knowledge, Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree preferable or at least three (3) years of successful employment experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, including an ability to respond creatively to issues raised, thereby providing not only advice on issues but to develop alternative acceptable solutions.
  • Ability to write/amend documents that accurately capture issue(s).
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Ability to analyze complex information, and to define and solve problems.
  • Ability to investigate and critically analyze claims information and to draw conclusions.
  • Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively summarize and present information.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
  • High level of courtesy and attention to detail in giving and receiving information and the ability to work in a methodical systematic way.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive matters that will impact on the overall success of the Department.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, and team building.
  • Ability to work well with other managers on a wide range of department areas.
  • High level of professional business acumen
