Project Engineer, Abel Building Solutions

The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical support complying with ANSA McAL policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure successful planning, execution, scheduling, and completion of assigned projects on time and within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

• The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical support complying with ANSA McAL policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure successful planning, execution, scheduling, and completion of assigned projects on time and within budget, and to a high standard of quality.  

Job Description:

• Develop Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation and Tender documents including technical plans, project scope, objectives, deliverables, and budget to ensure the vendor selection process is effective.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and cost estimates to ensure projects are adequately scoped and budgeted.
• Plan and manage the execution of assigned projects from ideation stage to evaluation stage ensuring the project scope and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
• Manage all project inputs and documentation including technical drawings, budgets, permits, project plans, risk registers, reports etc., to facilitate proper document control and auditing.
• Coordinate with various departments and teams to allocate resources effectively including materials, equipment, and manpower to ensure the project is adequately resourced to meet project timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team leads on all project documentation to ensure clear, ongoing communication of all projects, ensuring all parties are up to date on the projects’ progress including milestones, cost variances changes to scope and roadblocks.
• Identify potential risks and challenges during the project’s lifecycle and work on mitigation plans to ensure risks are minimized or eliminated.  
• Performs all other relevant duties as required to ensure optimum operation of the business.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
• Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or another related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a coatings plant, block plant or related industry.
• 2 years’ experience in Project Management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Familiarity with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to maintenance activities.
