The Accountant is responsible for working closely with the Head of Finance & Administration as well as the Finance Manager in accounting for the Investment Portfolios of the company.

Job Summary:

• The Accountant is responsible for working closely with the Head of Finance & Administration as well as the Finance Manager in accounting for the Investment Portfolios of the company. The Accountant is also responsible for working and collaborating with the Investment Services and Wealth Management departments in managing the reporting on the financial performance as well as financial positions of the relevant portfolios.

Job Description:

• Preparation and timely delivery of management reports.
• Direction, supervision and performance management of Accounting Assistants as applicable.
• Supervision of the investment-related Central Bank reports.
• Maintain and reconcile designated trial balance accounts
• Reconciliation of broker accounts on a monthly basis.
• Provide analytical support to the Executive Team.
• Review and verify all reports submitted by accounting staff.
• Assist the Head of Finance & Administration, Finance Manager and other accountants in managing the year end audit process and internal audit reviews.
• Assist the Head of Finance & Administration, Finance Manager and other accountants with the financial reporting process on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Perform cash and confidential document safekeeping custodial duties in conformance with Bank Policy.
• Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate health, safety, security and environmental policies/ procedures.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Head of Finance & Administration or the Finance Manager.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• ACCA qualified or equivalent professional qualification.
• A minimum of 5 years progressive accounting experience (including 2 years supervisory experience)
• Familiarity with accounting standards relevant to the financial services sector (e.g. IFRS9, IFRS16 in particular)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software package(s)
• Experience in preparing IFRS-compliant Financial Statements would be an asset.
• Familiarity with Temenos T24 software desirable
• Ability to work as part of a team and foster team spirit.
