Job Summary: 

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the inventory levels of the company. He/she would lead a team to receive and record new stock as it is delivered or shipped out by assessing different suppliers, recording daily deliveries, and evaluating new shipments. It also entails the control of the inventory flow by using protocols that help avoid loss mitigation when necessary so supplies can be tracked effectively while also analyzing how much stock should exist at any one time to prevent under-reporting or overcounting.

Job Description:

  • Oversee team of inventory and warehouse employees, utilizing supply chain best practices
  • Examine the levels of supplies and raw material, monitor stock movements to ensure stock levels are maintained.
  • Manage stock cycle counts and prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.
  • Document daily deliveries and shipments to support the coordination of export containers.
  • Perform daily analysis to predict potential inventory problems; investigate and resolve inconsistencies and variances with inventory.
  • Supervise daily activities of the internal and external warehouses, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
  • Ensure staff results are achieved by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct the final quality inspections on all outgoing warehouse stock.
  • Meet regularly with Department Head to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention.
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other job duties as required by the job function.

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business or Supply Chain Management or other professional qualification in supply chain from a recognized institute.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a senior warehousing & inventory position with formal training in warehouse operations/management.
  • Practical experience in Total Quality Management techniques in Warehousing Operations will be a definite asset.
  • Collaborative with the ability to be a key team player and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to articulate thoughts and express ideas clearly using oral, written, visual and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Resilient and the ability to work effectively under pressure without becoming flustered.
  • Ability to supervise and provide constructive feedback to the logistics team members to do their best work.
