JOB OPPORTUNITY NOTICE

POSITION: Operations Officer                                                  

GCG Group Barbados is a member of the GCG Group which operates in 21 countries across the US, Caribbean, Central and South America. We are seeking to recruit a passionate, skilled and highly motivated individual to join the team in the capacity of Operations Officer. 

This role offers an opportunity to establish and meet the highest international quality standards related to the coordination and oversight of aircraft turnaround activities in the Ground Handling Industry. It plays an important part in delivering value to our customers and stakeholders by achieving a safe, secure and efficient operation, through adherence of local regulations and standard operating/airline procedures. 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES include but are not limited to: 

• Prepares Load Sheets, calculates the aircrafts take-off weight, landing weight and its center of gravity.
• Ensures the turnaround activities and the agreed Acceptance and Authorization Baggage Reconciliation procedures are in conformance with local regulations and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinates and directs operational activities within the turnaround and manage any disruptions to these activities.
• Acts as a safety coordinator by maintaining safe and secure processes for the duration of turnaround activities.
• Ensure stand facilities are serviceable, equipment safely positioned, prior to arrival, during aircraft engagement and pre-departure.
• Complete the necessary documentation and report unserviceable equipment to the Maintenance Department.
• Assist the Ramp Officer with supervising of the shift when required.
• Marshall aircraft, performing ground to cockpit communication and dispatch aircraft as necessary.
• Keep up to date with all airline and company policies and procedures. 

ACADEMIC & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in management, aviation, engineering or in a related discipline.
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience of Load Controller Experience.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a management/supervisory level.
• Minimum three (3) years in the airline ground operation service industry will be an asset.
• Possess strong leadership, organizational and supervisory level.
• Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• A valid driver’s license.
• A valid Police Certificate of Character.
