Customs Clerk I, ANSA Motors Limited

Job Summary:

The Customs Clerk I is expected to be knowledgeable about customs regulations, international tariffs, shipping restrictions and insurance requirements ensuring all government trade rules and regulations are met in the processing and clearing of cargo for the division.

Job Description:

The Customs Clerk I will be responsible for leading on:

• To clear cargo/vehicles in a timely manner ensuring accurate and timely processing of documents
• To ensure documents received are in proper order and all entries are prepared for imports for transmittal to Customs House daily.
• To manage Bond operations effectively.
• To be present with Customs Officer to clear/receive cargo/vehicles from bonded warehouses as necessary.
• To be present with Customs Officer for receipt of vehicles into the bonded warehouse at least four times per month.
• To maintain relations with key stake-holders.
• To interact with various companies and office personnel for receipt of proper documentation to prepare invoices.
• To keep current with all Customs laws and regulations by attending meetings etc.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• 5 CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English
• Grade I Customs Clerk License
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar field
