Key Responsibilities - Tax Specialist

Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica, Aruba, USVI

• Support with annual and interim US GAAP and IFRS audits regarding tax assets, liabilities and expenses reported.
• Annual support with the income tax return filings.
• Support with tax authority audits as needed.
• Liaising with internal audit on requested information.
• Monthly assistance with tax provision reviews.
• Review of VAT return filings in Trinidad (bi-monthly), and Barbados and Jamaica (monthly).
• Review of VAT sales books and VAT purchases books to support the VAT filings.
• New Recipe/Ingredient Analysis on a monthly basis,
• Monthly review of foreign billings to identify amounts subject to withholding tax, VAT and contractors levy.
• Monthly review of Withholding Tax and Contractor Levy returns – Jamaica.
• Monthly analysis of foreign exchange gains/losses.
• Track tax advisor contracts and work orders and facilitate timely settlement of invoices; quarterly review of tax fee accruals and annual forecasting of tax fees.
• Special projects - process improvements, cost savings, research on tax laws etc.

Position Requirements:

• ACCA qualified or Degree in Accounting or Finance

• Must be able to multi-task with efficiency & accuracy
• Excellent math and analytical skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems and AS400
• High level of enthusiasm with a positive attitude.
• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
