The HR Coordinator is responsible for managing for all employee-related issues such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development and assigned HR projects.

The HR Coordinator is responsible for managing for all employee-related issues such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development and assigned HR projects.

 

 

Job Description:

  • Through collaboration with management, develop and implement HR initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Through collaboration with management, identifies anticipated training needs.
  • Coordinates and manages the recruitment and selection process.
  • Manage the grievance handling process and ensure adherence to the Collective Agreements and Government’s legislations; make recommendations for corrective action to be taken and draft related correspondence.
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning and provide feedback for HR initiatives.
  • Manage the maintenance and execution of the performance management system.
  • Identify performance gaps, in collaboration with managers prepare Performance Improvement Plans for Low Performing Staff and case-manage.
  • Through collaboration with management, complete the Talent Mapping Process and identify the LDPs and HIPOs. Prepare the necessary documentation and coaching to ensure that the developmental activities are implemented in the agreed timelines.
  • Monitor HR Metrics (Turnover rates, cost per hire, absenteeism)
  • Prepare and compile monthly HR Reports for ASL and present findings to Board of Directors.
  • Design proactive strategic initiatives to increase employee engagement.
  • In conjunction with the HSEEQ Advisor, ensure all STOW guidelines and policy are adhered to.
  • Responsible for the delivery of HR projects.
  • Provide all logistical, professional, and administrative support to management and employees.

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree will be an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the required field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in Industrial Relations.
  • Proficient in HRIS management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Must have strong planning and organization skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
