JANITOR

Job Overview

We are looking for a Janitor to help us maintain a clean, secure and well-functioning work environment.  The role also involves light & heavy cleaning as the need arises. To be successful in this role, you should be well-organized and able to prioritize multiple issues.

Job Responsibilities:

• Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
• Performs routine maintenance activities.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
• Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.

Job Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years work experience as a Janitor/Handyman/Custodian or similar role
• Strong knowledge of facilities management operations
• Understanding of safety regulations in offices
• Sound judgment and the ability to think quickly during emergencies
• Extensive experience in building and equipment maintenance.

Education

• HEART Level II or higher certificate in facilities/housekeeping

Experience

• Minimum 2-years experience in a similar role
