Job Description:
- Assist the Plant Manager in the development and administration of annual department budget and provide recommendations on capital expenditure projects/upgrades.
- Provide recommendations for re-engineering and improvement to plant equipment and processes; troubleshoot process problems and take corrective action.
- Monitor all production processes and verify that they are kept within standard operating procedures (SOP) and standard operating conditions and limits (SOCL).
- Verify that quality control measures are maintained in all production areas.
- Evaluate Plant economics to determine optimum operating efficiencies.
- Assist in the development of new projects and project implementation.
- Re-design/modify existing plants to improve process and reliability.
- Prepare monthly and daily reports for all production areas.
- Carry out periodic assignments for quality improvement, cost effective measures, auditing and specific training as assigned.
- Ensure proper checks and balances are done for all raw materials and finished goods for chlor-alkali and packaging line.
- Provide accurate and timely information on stock levels and usage, to the Warehouse/Stores department, to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Perform a variety of tasks in conformance to quality, health, safety, security and environmental policies/procedures.
- Perform any other job duties as required by the job function.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BSc. in Chemical/Process Engineering from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in a process plant/manufacturing environment or any equivalent combination of qualification and experience.
- Must be able to analyze and synthesize information to understand issues, identify options, and support sound decision making.
- Collaborative with the ability to be a key team player, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence.
- Ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
- Attention to detail by monitoring and checking work or information; plans and organizes time and resources efficiently.
- Ability to articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively using oral, written, visual and non-verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills to gain understanding.
- Resilient and the ability to work effectively under pressure, managing a diverse and competing workload.
