The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for the operational and technical duties of the HR Department including assigned responsibilities of employment recruitment, compensation, benefits administration, employee and industrial relations, training and development and performance management.

Job Summary: 

The Senior Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operational and technical duties of the HR Department functions and programmes including assigned responsibilities of employment recruitment, workers compensation, benefits administration, employee and industrial relations, training and development and performance management. He/She will provide technical assistance and HR metrics to key internal stakeholders and provide support in assigned areas as required.

 

 

Job Description: 

  • Assists all employees with enquiries on work matters, career development, personal problems and industrial matters and any other HR matters.
  • Provide support to supervisors to ensure that they have accurate and timely information in order to make effective decisions.
  • Organize employee relations programmes e.g., Group Sports & Family Day; employee welfare programmes e.g., EAP Information Sessions; and external Company welfare initiatives and Community outreach programmes, Recruitment Fairs etc.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and selection process in order to ensure a timely, organized, standard and comprehensive procedure is used to hire staff, including job advertising, applicant screening administering selection tests and interviewing, reference checking, arrange pre-employment medicals, certificate of characters, draft employment offers etc.
  • Conduct exit interviews for lower-level staff and ensure that the exit checklist is completed in full whilst ensuring compliance with the company’s exit procedures.
  • Complete new-hire orientation, induction and completion of all the necessary new hire paperwork.
  • Ensure induction checklists and job descriptions are completed within specified timeframes for ISO Standards.
  • Assists Managers in the sourcing of departmental training needs, update relevant employee records and advise the Finance Department for Tax Benefits.
  • Develop the Training Plan and ensure proper monitoring/reporting on the training cycle/metrics.
  • Ensure training evaluation forms are completed by employee and line manager.
  • Organizes staff training sessions, workshops and activities.
  • Initiates probationary and performance evaluations (3-month probation, 6-month probation, mid-year and end of year appraisals)
  • Reviews performance appraisals and annual evaluations to ensure evaluation is fair, clear and comprehensive.
  • Maintains familiarity with bargaining unit contract, pay scales and positions.
  • Administer the company’s employment benefits, such as its pension, health and life plans.
  • Assist in Negotiations/Collective Bargaining Process. Conduct Research and provide support as required.
  • Develop, monitor and track vacation leave roster.
  • Research HR data for inclusion in strategic HR Plans.
  • Completes HR Monthly Payroll Report and submits to Payroll on a monthly basis within established deadlines.
  • Complete Manpower Report and ensure that manpower data is aligned to HRIS data.
  • Prepare internal ABS HR Team report on a fortnightly basis.
  • Prepare monthly management reports as assigned.
  • Update employee data on Employee Central in line with HR Blue Book policies and procedures.
  • Monitors absenteeism and punctuality and complete disciplinary letters as necessary.
  • Manages the administration of the Pulse Survey and any other employee engagement initiatives.
  • Liaise with external customers/contractors/suppliers as and when necessary.
  • Ensure that all necessary employees are added on D3650 and that the relevant roles are assigned on Fast Path.
  • Assist with the coordination of all training activities.
  • Participate in the development of and perform all duties in accordance with the procedures set forth in ISO standards and the Company’s Quality manual and OSHA standards.
  • Promote safety awareness and the development of a safety culture within the company.
  • Compliance with ANSA McAl Group Policies.
  • Conduct any other related duties that may be assigned by management.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Degree/ Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Excellent Communication both written and oral.
  • Report and Research Skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Supervisory Management.
  • 3 – 5 years working in a similar role.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource best practices.
  • Knowledge of Trinidad and Tobago Labour Laws.
  • Prior experience delivering in house training to staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Visio) and HRIS (HRp5)
