DIVISIONAL SALES MANAGER

 

Job Summary:

The Divisional Sales Manager will be responsible for supervising and organizing our sales team within his or her assigned sales area. He or she will be in charge of managing organizational sales by developing business plans for key customers, meeting planned goals for the various brands, and coordinating with our marketing department to ensure proper execution of plans by the sales team. He or she will also be tasked with overseeing the activities and performance of their sales team by tracking sales goals, setting individual sales targets, and facilitating the ongoing training of the salespeople.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Managing and maintaining a sales structure that allows for the effective, efficient servicing of customers in the assigned area.
  2. Continuous review of the various sales routes to ensure complete coverage of the areas and optimal use of resources.
  3. Seek out new customers and growth opportunities in the assigned area in an effort to grow the customer base. Continuously updating the respective sales route lists.
  4. Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team.
  5. Managing organizational sales by developing a business plan that covers sales, revenue and expense controls.
  6. Meeting planned sales goals.
  7. Setting individual sales targets with the sales team to ensure that overall company targets are achieved.
  8. Tracking sales goals and reporting results as necessary.
  9. Overseeing the activities and performance of the sales team through regular trade visits and the direct interaction with customers. It is expected that the Area Sales Manager will spend a minimum of 75% of his or her time in the trade.
  10. Identify any potential or existing expiry date issues and work with the team to solve this issues in order to avoid losses.
  11. Work closely with the Merchandizing team to ensure the best use of this resource to achieve excellent presence of Products in store, best use of Point of Sale Materials and proper stock rotation.
  12. Build and Promote strong, long lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  13. Creation and execution of customer specific trade marketing programs with the objective of building the company’s brands and driving sales volumes.
  14. Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  15. Coordinating with marketing department to ensure proper execution of brand plans by the sales team.
  16. The ongoing training of your salespeople.
  17. Developing your sales team through motivation, counseling and product knowledge education.
  18. Work with billing team and warehouse staff to ensure on time deliveries.
  19. Promoting the organization and its products.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business Management
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Brand or Marketing Management.
