Command Centre Officer

Location: Piarco

Salary: TT$5,000

SUMMARY OF JOB: The Command Centre Officer reports to the Command Centre Shift Supervisor and Operations Manager, or incumbent and provides administrative and Call Centre support to the Command Centre. This Officer responds to calls from Security personnel, answer queries, questions and handle complaints. The incumbent is also responsible for confirming security personnel arrival on locations and providing update reports on patrols and location status. The incumbent also provides Video Surveillance / Monitoring Services for the Clients served, taking necessary actions to mitigate against risk and respond to abnormal activity, as well as provide relevant reports, as required.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Delivery

  • Confirm posting of officers on locations, as per contractual agreement daily, ensuring arrival time for present shift and departure time for previous shift are accurately documented on the duty sheets before the end of shift.
  • Conduct timely confirmation of duties; i.e. A.M. and P.M. for all assigned locations.
  • In dealing with manpower shortages at locations, Officers should not be relocated from assigned locations, except in exceptional cases.
  • Where Officers are not rostered for a particular location on a given day, advise them of relevant Client security policies and procedures.
  • Prepare all Client daily reports (location report, patrol report) and adhoc reports (e.g. Incident report) are completed accurately and distributed to all relevant persons.
  • Monitor to ensure guard patrols are conducted as required for each shift. All checkpoints must be scanned as required, and immediate follow-up conducted with officers for non-compliance.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting in relation to the patrol tool for officers.
  • Notify relevant Law Enforcement Agencies to respond to alarms in the event of emergency.

 

 

Administration

  • Plan and coordinate daily/nightly schedule for Drivers, to meet the Officer posting and extraction requirements, delivery of meal vouchers, salary slips, etc.
  • In the absence of the Sentry, ensure all documents received at Command Centre are documented in relevant log books and are sent out to recipients in a timely manner.
  • Monitor whereabouts of all company vehicles via GPS Tracking to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure reported client incidents are actioned accordingly.
  • Document information on unusual internal incidents within Command Centre, in the absence of CC Shift Supervisor.
  • Assist in issuing meal vouchers and petty cash in accordance to company policies in the absence of the Sentry.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections with relieving Driver at Command Centre, ensuring that the relevant documentation is completed and signed-off according to policy, including updating the Vehicle Inspection Log.
  • Maintain Station Diary, official registers and Logs in the absence of Sentry.
  • Ensure that change of shift report is prepared, reviewed with incoming personnel (during handover process), and emailed to all relevant parties.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time within the scope of your function.

 

Monitoring

  • Monitoring: Use CCTV to actively monitor client premises to ensure that safety of the Client assets, as per Client Standing Orders as well as company guidelines, including but not limited to: building perimeters, sensitive building areas and exterior doors.
  • Document any abnormal activities at client locations being monitored in real time
  • Relay distress signal (internal and external parties) to appropriate personnel upon observing abnormal activity, as per company guidelines. o Ensure that relevant law enforcement agency is notified to respond to criminal intrusion in the event of emergency.
  • Prepare and submit incident report, as per company guidelines. 
  • Maintain a written log of any suspicious activities captured by the surveillance equipment.
  • For client locations served by NOSS Officers, ensure that compliance with Client Standing Orders, and follow up actions with Operations Manager, or incumbent in the case of non-compliance.
  • At the start of each shift, verify that all external cameras are set up and broadcasting, and free from any obstruction / obscurity that might hinder monitoring; take appropriate action should, as required.
  • Monitor and report any camera faults or lost server connection, as per company guidelines.
  • Control entry and exit into the Monitoring Room, and account for the assets of the Monitoring Room.
  • Ensure that Handovers are conducted and signed by both parties at the end of each shift, in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain a chronological log of events during each shift, to include what actions were taken and contacts made. Ensuring that all logs are accurately maintained and updated.
  • Ensure that reports are completed daily i.e. Change of Shift Reports and Client’s Daily Reports.
  • Customer service: ensure that all forms of communication (email, phone conversation, reports, etc.) are all done in a courteous and professional manner.

 

Work Conditions

  • Must be able to work shift duties – a.m., p.m., weekends, mixed.
  • Must be accessible by cell phone, particularly whilst on duty.
  • Practice and maintain good Operational practices in the execution of duties at all times.
  • Perform other job-related duties as directed by the Operations Manager or designate.
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

 

Requirements

  • at least 2 years experience working in a command centre 
  • 5 CSEC passes or equivalent academic qualifications
  • experience in the security industry would be an asset
  • The shifts are 12 hours - 8am - 8pm / 8pm-8am
