Senior Leadership Development Specialist

The Leadership Development Manager is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive leadership development programs and providing mentorship to leaders within our Kingston Sales Center. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in leadership development, excellent mentoring skills, and a passion for guiding individuals to reach their full potential. As a Leadership Development Specialist and Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future leaders of our organization.

 

What Will You Do?

Leadership Development Programs:

    • Identify the leadership competencies and skills required for success within the organization and align development initiatives accordingly.
    • Develop and deliver comprehensive leadership development programs, including workshops, training sessions, seminars, and online resources.
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders to assess training needs and design customized leadership development interventions.
    • Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that incorporate a variety of instructional methods, such as case studies, role-plays, and group activities.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of leadership development programs and make necessary improvements based on feedback and data analysis.

Individual Coaching and Mentoring:

    • Serve as a trusted mentor and coach to individuals aspiring to develop their leadership abilities.
    • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions to provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to help individuals overcome challenges and maximize their potential.
    • Assist mentees in setting and achieving meaningful leadership development goals.
    • Act as a sounding board and resource for mentees, offering insights, perspectives, and practical advice based on your own leadership experience.
    • Help mentees build self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and effective communication skills.

Talent Assessment and Succession Planning:

    • Collaborate with HR and senior leaders to identify high-potential employees and create personalized development plans.
    • Assess leadership competencies, strengths, and areas for improvement through various assessment tools, such as 360-degree feedback, psychometric tests, and performance evaluations.
    • Contribute to succession planning efforts by identifying and developing future leaders within the organization.

Special Projects and Ad-Hoc: 

    • Undertake special projects related to leadership development, such as researching and implementing innovative leadership development methodologies, tools, or technologies.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in leadership development, and proactively share insights and recommendations with stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with external vendors or consultants to leverage their expertise and resources for specific leadership development projects or training needs.
    • Participate in the evaluation and selection of external leadership development programs or resources to supplement internal offerings.
    • Do other new, fun, and innovative stuff we haven’t thought of yet.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience developing leaders leveraging a variety of methods including training, mentoring, coaching, giving feedback, creating development plans etc.
  • Experience managing others
  • Experience developing a Leadership Development strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Experience in designing and facilitating leadership training
  • In-depth knowledge of leadership theories, models, and best practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with individuals at all levels
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development or other related field is preferred but not mandatory

Professional certifications in leadership development, coaching, or related areas are a plus.
