The primary goal of the Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and professional maintenance of all guest rooms, public areas and back of the house offices according to the company standard, conduct staff training and motivation.

The primary goal of the Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and professional maintenance of all guest rooms, public areas and back of the house offices according to the company standard, conduct staff training and motivation.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act upon directives and co-ordinate projects given by the Housekeeping Manager
  • Monitor all VIP rooms
  • Prepare daily/ weekly work schedule
  • Prepare store requisitions as necessary
  • Ensure linen room, blocks and supervisors in respective areas are properly monitored
  • Perform supervisor’s / Housekeeping Manager duties when required.
  • Ensure policies, guidelines, rules and regulations of the Hotel are upheld within the department.
  • Handle guest complaints and requests as necessary
  • Coordinate and conduct linen inventory
  • Conduct performance appraisals as required by the Hotel
  • Assist in establishing the motivational climate in the department
  • Ensure staff has the necessary tools to complete their jobs and report any discrepancies to the Housekeeping Manager
  • Assists the executive Housekeeper in minimizing the department’s cost
  • Perform other related duties which may be assigned from time to time
EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED TRAINING AND SKILLS
  • BSc. or Associate Degree in management/hospitality management
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar capacity/supervisory role
  • Training in management and/supervisory skills
  • Computer literate

  • Good supervisory skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work in a fast- pace, high energy and demanding work environment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good knowledge of the hotel operations or ability to learn quickly

  • Dedicated, hard-working, self – motivated and solution oriented
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and coordinate details; ability to multi-task and use initiative.
